Mee Noodle Shop (Midtown East) 547 2nd Ave. (Corner of E 49th St.) (212) 260-7888 M Mee Noodle Shop. Serious Chinese food for the seriously on the run. This place churns like a hive during the weekday rush, for both lunch and dinner. If you're looking for great Chinese food fast you can find it at the Mee Noodle Shop, famous for its exemplary noodle soups fresh, flavorful dishes and speedy service. Almost any of their packed seats will afford you a view of the bustling intersection of second Avenue and 49th Street. If you'd rather not feel like a sardine in a canning factory try to get their between 2pm and 5pm. They make a mean broth and finish it off with aromatic wontons, a broad selection of noodles and meat. I can't get enough of their roast pork noodle soup with all those fixins. In fact, I love it so much I happened, by chance, to have it for lunch the day I wrote this page. True story. |
