Sushi Rose (Midtown East) 453 6th Ave. (Btw W. 10th and 11th St) 212-924-6688 *Reservations recommended Sushi Rose is my hands down favorite sushi bar/Japanese restaurant in the entire city. This place is posh and the fish is always incredibly fresh. The cooked food is out of site as well but I always go for the sushi. The restaurant is located on the second floor of its building. Simply walking up the stairs instills a sense of privilege. The chairs are cushiony and comfortable and the service is quite attentive. Be warned though, the chairs in the private room are sided and are designed for the more slender sushi eater. They are open for lunch and dinner with a broad selection of fresh sushi and other Japanese delights. This is the only sushi restaurant where I eat dessert. I love completing my meal with a scoop of their red bean ice cream topped with sesame sauce. Yum! |
